(Formerly PennyStockInsider.com)
I've had a membership at this site for about 3 years now, having renewed once for a two-year term. I've more than made my money back on the subscription from two recommendations learned from this site. The first was Churchill Corporation, a medium-sized construction company based in Western Canada, the second was Hip Interactive, the Canadian video game distributor. Both companies were what I liked to find: undervalued, unknown penny stocks who are profitable. When I first read their recommendation on Churchill, the company was trading at a P/E of around 7, had a lot of work in-hand, and better than trading at below book value, they were trading below cash. It was a no brainer, the stock had nowhere to go but up (not so today, the economic slowdown wiped out their profitability for a few quarters and they've been spending their warchest on acquisitions). My second two year subscription was more than paid for when I got stopped out of Hip Interactive a few months ago with over 300% profit. It was also trading at a multiple of 7 when I entered, they were already profitable and had some serious earnings momentum happening. Most of their picks are typical pennies: unprofitable and highly speculative companies, but knowing that they keep their eyes peeled for these "no-brainers" I love like Churchill and Hip I don't mind keeping a subscription as long as I learn about one good candidate like these each term. This site does hit a couple of my pet peeves: Their analysis is usually good, but they also post the company releases as if they were "content" and that bothers me. They also have menu items which link to external websites, a practice I always frown upon (it makes me feel like somebody is trying to put one over on me). |

** Spammy? No Renewed? No |
I'm always on the lookout for income producing websites which I can buy and improve upon. I'm not really into "flipping" them, I'm into fixing them up and then just adding the income stream to "the pile". Alas this is harder than it sounds and I intend to post a separate article Buying Income Producing Websites on this site devoted to the subject.
Kirt Christensen's site promises "'Paint-By-Numbers' System For Taking Over Lousy Websites, Fixing Them Up And Pocketing Up To An Easy 10,000% Net Profit (Or More) In Less Than A Few Weeks, Even Days... GUARANTEED!" which sounds sweet. What I was really interested in though, was where to find suitable businesses to buy, I thought I would happily pay a few bucks to find out something I don't already know. Alas, this site is one of the weaker ones I've seen. Many of the "member's area resources" are actually just links to to articles elsewhere on the internet that are readily available. The majority of the local articles are in fact, about marketing, not finding, buying, fixing up and then selling existing web businesses. When the author does talk about buying, improving, and then selling web businesses, it turns out most of related subject matter always comes back to one particular website: ediamondbrokers.com which he bought for something like $19,000 and then sold less than a year later for $110,000. A lucrative venture indeed, but hardly one upon which an entire "body of work" can be built upon. The "member's only" message board is fairly sparsely populated, the moderator there does an ok job of weeding out the one or two websites on Ebay that aren't a complete waste of time and posting them on the site. (That done consistently, is a service I would pay for). In the end, it's about thirty bucks for some spreadsheets and cookie-cutter legal agreements that could come in handy, one or two articles that aren't bad. And the message board, which is probably the main reason to be there but doesn't have enough activity to justify it. I ended up cancelling my subscription after the first month. |
